Like Peppermint Altoids With an Superior Texture

I purchased these for myself because I had recently tried some of Spry's mint gum and their dental defense cinnamon mints and just loved all over them, and me and peppermint, we totally have a thing, so I wanted to see if these were equally awesome. They totally, totally are. The mint in these is a bit stronger, akin to an altoid, but the texture is totally different, and I actually prefer the texture on these A LOT. These are smaller mints, I would say they are roughly half the size of an Altoid, but they are smooth, and that is actually a texture I prefer when it comes to mints. Taste wise, I can't tell the difference between these and the sugared varieties. My daughter, who has been helping me go through the different varieties of Spry mints I bought myself, can't tell the difference either. We've tried all of the variety of their gem mints as well as their cinnamon dental defense mints. Honestly, their spearmint gem ones and the cinnamon dental defense ones are probably my favorites, but I like these ones even more then I liked peppermint Altoids, and that's saying something. Because prior to my nasty break up with sugar, mint Altoids and I were like*totally* on daily speaking terms. The xylitol in these has been shown in some studies to inhibit the growth the bacteria that cause tooth decay, which is definitely preferable to what the sugary mints can do. So in our house, we loved these and would definitely buy them again.

Strong mint, best saliva-stimulating ingredients, use them all the time

These mints are brilliant! I am glad to have found them. I suffer from chronic dry mouth (xerostoma) and am constantly looking for ways to rehydrate. Without adequate moisture, my throat hurts and I lose my voice. The ingredient in these mints that truly helps is the xylitol. Xylitol is a sugar alcohol. It provides sweetness without calories and also stimulates saliva production. Other sugar alcohols include sorbitol, mannitol, and erythritol. To my knowledge, xylitol is still the best of the bunch for stimulating saliva production. Regular sugared candy will leave your mouth feeling dry and sticky if you already have dry mouth. If you are afraid of “fake chemicals” or “fake sugars,” this may not be the best choice for you. Take care not to eat too many of these mints at once, as xylitol (like other sugar alcohols) can act as a laxative. Unless you eat the entire bottle of mints in one sitting, you will probably be just fine. The flavor is massive! They are about as strong as altoids but without the sticky sugar feeling. These clear out my sinuses. If you are a peppermint fan, these will be great for you. To keep my mouth feeling great, I usually have a mint every 1-2 hours throughout the work day. A bottle will last me for about a month, it feels like. I don’t use them every day. Mostly when I’m at work staring at a computer and trying to stay hydrated. I share these mints routinely with my coworkers and friends and they also can attest to the mouth watering efficacy of ... Read More

Great tasting mint that is actually good for you.

I'm some sort of a mint addict.. I used to order them by the carton. I used to have Altoids, but moved to these because: 1. The regular altoid contain sugar, so if you have like 5-6 mints daily, the mouth actually start to smell :(.. which is not the intended purpose of a mint. 2. The sugar-free altoid and ice breakers didn't work well my tummy and I started experiencing a ton of acidity. Google search made me realize that the mints might be the culprit. So I started looking for alternatives. 3. This tiny box has lasted 2 months for me. Because there is no Sugar in it, I don't crave to have another mint as soon as I finish one.

awesome all the way around

I have a super dry mouth because of some medications that I am on and I love these. They are small, so I tend to have 2 at a time, but I like the option of just having a small one. They are fairly strong too, similar to altoid mints, they definitely help stinky breath. Even my friends that don't have dry mouths like them.

if I remember correctly what Altoids are like. I'm on a low-carb diet

These are powerful little mints! I'd put them on par with Altoids for breath-fresheningness, if I remember correctly what Altoids are like. I'm on a low-carb diet, so I love these little guys. I also tend to be pretty obsessive about the state of my dental health, so the xylitol is a big bonus.

Love'em

These mints are great - I had to let go of my Altoid addiction due to the sugar and it was wrecking my teeth, this is my replacement. They're hard to find in the stores here in Houston though...... Amazon is my go-to - thanks!

I think it works better than Altoids

Makes my breath stay fresh.. I think it works better than Altoids. I do have to take 2 mints as 1 is not enough so it will go empty twice as fast. But still like it for the price.

tasty

These are so tasty I ate them pretty fast. Better get a few jars. The container doesn't fit in a pocket, buy you could always dump them in an empty altoid can.

Great taste, sugar free, helps to increase the saliva in the mouth

I am a dental hygienist. For at least 10 years my daughter in law has used Altoids..very frequently every day. I was concerned about the sugars....she has a high rate of dental decay. She has also used sugar free Altoids mints. Her dentist suggested to her to change to these in her preferred Peppermint flavor. She is very happy with these, and likes the flavor and is happy to dump her Altoids.
