People say Sungait is really similar to Ao.

Excellent Value

I've normally purchased the higher-end AO or RE Aviators (around $150-$250 new) but this year I'm cutting back so I tried these out. Turns out these are amazingly good for the price and I'm perfectly happy with them - might never go back to the more expensive ones, given that sunglasses get lost or stolen. I'm getting 2 pair and it's still costing me less than a handful of coffee drinks! They even provide the same peripherals you get from American or Randolph - soft bag for a case, repair kit, cleaning cloth, etc.. Had a question and Customer Service replied the same day. If you're on a budget and want some good Aviators, give these a try.

Better than name brand

I really enjoy these for driving and flying steam gauges. These are way lighter than the Raybans, and AO which makes a big difference. Also I started them using for bicycle rides and everywhere else because if they break I get another pair for $15. I don't even case them and still holding up to the abuse. I only wish they had non polarized version and grey lenses. When flying glass the polarization make the gauges hard to see hence unusable. A year later I love these so much I got them for the entire family. Customer support is great, the nose piece came loose and eventually lost it. Sungait took care of is asap. Great glasses and company.

Lightweight, nice looking, and good value

Received these very quickly and they were packaged very well to prevent any damage. I have worn the original AO brand since my military service and these look just as nice. The biggest difference is these do not have glass lenses so no worry about the lenses shattering, plus these are much lighter. The temple pieces hold securely and don't slip when looking down, and the nose pieces are very comfortable. I was concerned that the lenses would have some distortion, but they are distortion free to the edges. Also came with soft storage bag, cleaning cloth, and a really neat screwdriver. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Great inexpensive military style aviator option

I got hooked on square framed military aviators with bayonet earpieces after I was issued a pair of Randolphs in flight school. Over the subsequent years, I’ve exclusively bought AOs. One of my pairs broke last month, so I went shopping for a replacement pair. However, over the last few years the retail price of AOs has quadrupled after John Hamm wore them in an episode of Mad Men. I saw these Sungaits and thought, “Well if they’re junk I’m only out $15.” I was pleasantly surprised to find that they’re an excellent pair, especially at this price point. The frames are metal and feel very sturdy. The ear and nose pieces are really solid - I think I might like them better than the AOs even. Because the lenses are plastic and not glass, they’re considerably lighter than comparable AOs and Randolphs. With that said, plastic lenses are much more susceptible to scratches than glass, so I would definitely store them in the included pouch and only clean them with the included cloth per the company instructions. Sungait claims they offer 100% UVA/B protection - there’s not really a way to verify that, but I wore them outside all day on the 4th and didn’t notice any eye fatigue or any difference from my AOs. In summary, these are highly recommended for fans of military aviators, especially if you’re not in the mood to drop $200 on pairs that were selling for less than $50 a few years ago.

Excellent Cost/Benefit Ratio

Just received these sunglasses and used them for an extended weekend in the Florida sun. I've worn American Optical Aviator glasses for years but they are difficult to find these days at the military exchanges. These SUNGAIT sunglasses cost less than half the AOs I've bought in the past at AAFES. However, they perform just as well on initial wear. Will they last? We'll see. They are optically excellent, lightweight, and help considerably with glare. For that price? What's not to like?

Best CVC glasses Ive ever own

Due to white phosphorus, I have light sensitivity. I have worn military sun glasses ever since. There are no good glass ones any more, AO puts their logo at 11 o'clock high, cant use them when the logo looks like a far off bogie. I bought two pairs of these, after wearing the first pair, I sent for 2 more. I now have another decades worth, it I live that long. Good stuff

Functional and good looking

Having owned (and lost or broken) many pair of Randolph Engineering and American Optical pilot sunglasses; I finally figured out that I cannot be trusted to care for $200 sunglasses. These SUNGAITS are certainly not the quality of my former brand(s) of preference, but they are less than 8% of the cost. The biggest difference is that Randolph and AO have very nice glass lenses. The frames are probably better engineered as well. If those things matter to you, you should go ahead and spend the $200 and see how it works out for you. The SUNGAITS look good, protect my eyes and cost $15. I'm pretty happy with my decision. And maybe someday, SUNGAIT will offer glass lenses and put Randolph Engineering and American Optical out of business.

Incredible Sunglasses

I've had a pair of AO Pilot sunglasses from the Army Navy store for 15 years and I got this pair to replace the ones I broke and I can't tell the difference between the two. Great glasses for the money. I'm buying another pair just in case I break these by accident.

Great deal for the money.

These days you can go to the grocery store or convenience store and pick up a cheap pair of sunglasses for $20.00 or more. These sunglasses cost less and are distinctive relative to your choice at the grocery store. If you like the AO military look, these will work. Genuine AO are quality but the price has become unreasonable. Not even the gold tone Ray Ban aviators cost as much. The SUNGAIT glasses are expendable. If you crush them or lose them, who cares? Buy another pair with the added convenience of quick delivery!
