Comparison with Neutrogena's facial gel cream

I wanted to compare this body lotion with Neutrogen's facial gel-cream, which per ounce is drastically more expensive, and see if this body lotion would work on the face. Here's what I found after a few weeks of testing: The facial gel-cream has no petrolatum and more dimethicone, so it feels a bit more refreshing and light to apply. However, it doesn't retain hydration as well because it's also less occlusive. The body lotion, when used on the face, definitely feels richer. The texture is still quite pleasant and it's not too heavy for my oily skin. It's a little less cosmetically elegant than the facial cream on application but it sinks in after a few minutes and doesn't look greasy or shiny. After a few hours, it definitely retains moisture better. Both products don't contain much hyalauronic acid, so I think it's the glycerin and occlusives doing the heavy lifting here. I think it's totally fine for using during the day and makes a particularly good night cream/sleeping mask. I like it more than Cerave's lotion, which has more a traditional sticky lotion texture (even if it does have more beneficial ceramides). Fun fact--this also works great on hair for taming split ends or frizz. A lot of hair treatments are glycerin, oils, and dimethicone anyway, so why not give it a try? Worst case you don't use it on your face or hair, and it still makes a great body lotion. This is probably one of my favorite Neutrogena products.

Try it!

I have skin that is drier than the Sahara desert. I cannot wear foundation or concealer because it just crumbles off my skin. Cerave works well but this stuff is just incredible. It’s extremely light weight and a little goes a long way. It’s not sticky or heavy on the skin and absorbs very nicely. A trick I learned if you have the same skin problems as me is after you wash your face, keep your skin wet, apply your moisturizer then gently massage it in. Let it dry and then apply the the rest of your products like serums etc. My concealer and foundation goes on so smooth with this but be patient with any product you use because this took about 3 days to really dig into my skin and repair the dryness which is relatively quick. I hope this helps with anyone deciding to purchase this.

Holy grail product

I have dry, itchy, sensitive skin, and this product is wonderful. I use this on wet skin so that the hyaluronic acid can bind to the water molecules, and then I add a thicker moisturizer on top of it (cerave) to seal in the moisture, now my skin is soft and remains super hydrated. The fact that this is fragrance free is even better. Highly recommend this for everyone!

Helping my acne and hyperpigmentation issues

I've been trying out recommendations from Dr Dray to try to stop my adult acne and reduce my hyperpigmentation. I use this on my face and neck with Cerave Moisturizing Cream in combo with Adapalene, Zapzyt and PanOxyl wash. This has greatly improved my acne and overall skin's appearance/luminosity. I've tried other combos of a hyaluronic acid and moisturizer but this lotion combined with the other products have really improved my skin (mid 30s age). Highly recommend trying this. Very pleased.

My years of searching are over!!

I love this lotion! The active ingredient is hyaluronic acid which allows my skin to hold a ton more water. I've had super dry skin and Keratosis Polaris my whole life, and have tried so many lotions. I use this along with the CeraVe salicylic acid lotion and my skin's never been better.

Great hydration without added junk!

Free from all the bad stuff and loaded with good stuff! Hydrating out of the shower including face, then applying cerave moisturizer to the face for aging skin.

Very moisturizing

This helped keep in moisture after showers. I used it as a first layer then after a minute, put on CeraVe Moisturizing Cream on top of it. Both work very well together for me, as compared to just one product.

Ok but could be better

I like the simple ingredients, however, the biggest con is the sticky feeling left on the skin after applying this lotion. You know that feeling when the sweat dries on your skin and you feel sticky? That is the sensation this leaves. I switched over to "Cerave moisturizing cream for normal to dry skin" and I'm already obsessed with it.
