Reviews for Hydrating Core Lip Shine
People say Elf is really similar to Clinique.
Really nice formula, color is a good dupe for Clinique Black Honey, but it smells like burnt plastic. It's not overly strong, but it's there on the lips and it is not the kind of thing you want to be wearing if you kiss someone. But it does actually offer some hydration, which I find rare in tinted products that are marketed as hydrating.
BLACK HONEY DUPE
I've been buying Clinique's Black Honey for years!! I wasn't trying to spend $20 so decided to try shade Ecstatic and it's great! Never going back.
Not expensive and is a great color. A dupe for the clinique black honey
I got the shade ecstatic, I heard it's suppose to be a dupe for the Clinique black honey since I wanted the deep light brown shade, I would say its so perfect! It's so light and easy to wear and leaves a glossy shine on the lips. Also I have a medium tan skin tone and it looks so good!
I bring this everywhere
I love Clinique's black honey almost lipstick and purchased this in the shade ecstatic after hearing it was a dupe. I find the colors to be very similar, but this does have more of a balm-y feel and shine to it. I like to use black honey & bring this with me for touching so I don't risk losing the expensive one :) hydrating and doesn't cling too badly to chapped lips
This is an amazing hydrating lip balm. It smells delicious. The color, let me tell you about the color. I grew up using Clinique. My favorite lip was black honey. LADIES this color is a total dupe to that lovely color. It works for so many skin tones. Its amazing and its 7 bucks! GET IT and TRY IT. The ONLY downside for me is that its a balm and when you build it up it tends to bend. It will not make me stop using it though because the color is BOMB.
I like it
Ecstatic is a pretty close dupe to Clinique's Black Honey. Maybe they reformulated after all the negative comments. The one I purchased did not have a taste or smell. It's a pretty color. I'm definitely going to pick up a couple more.
Nice sheer wash of hydrating color
I had been eying the clinique black honey lip color and heard this was a good dupe. I like the texture and haven't run into any issues with the "grittiness" described in other reviews. The color is nice and a just little deeper than what I'd consider natural on me (I am fair/neutral), but one light coat could pass for my natural lip color. It's buildable, too, which is nice if you aren't looking for natural! I work from home but still do a full face every day, and this is a nice way to add color while keeping my lips hydrated. I think this lasts about as long as any tinted lip balm, so if you eat or drink it will come off. I'm constantly drinking water, or absent-mindedly touching my mouth (I know, I know), so I wipe away most any lip products pretty quickly. So between the color, hydration, and price, I think this is a great product.
Would definitely recommend! I bought one of these as I couldn't get hold of my usual clinique black honey as theres some kind of viral trend for it at the moment, I saw someone post this as a bit of a dupe, well it's not exactly the same, this had more pigment to it than my usual go to, but I absolutely love it! It goes on beautifully, wears beautifully, is really comfortable and just so wearable! I'll be recommending it to everyone! (I went for the darkest shade and a shade called honey, both are lovely, honey is more of a nude and the darker one is a lovely plummy dark autumnal tone)
This lip stain is a great find!
I bought this based on the fact that I could purchase the Clinique version (that cost 4x as much!). I am so pleased with the stain and this is my second time purchasing. My only complaint, and why it doesn't get 5 stars, is the "taste." I thought I had gotten an old one, but that is just the scent/taste. I do wish that was improved. But the color and feel is great and I will continue to use it.
Comparable to Clinique
Purchased this because I could not find my usual lip crayon shade of Clinique Chubby stick and this is definitely comparable. More moisturizing and glossy with slightly less pigment, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well this worked for me.
I bought this to see how it compares to cliniques black honey color and wet n wilds gel balm. I wanted to get the darker shade but after watching YouTube swatches I was worried it would be too pigmented so I bought the shade happy. Unfortunately I should have just got the darker shade. The happy color is really similar to my natural lip color so it doesn't really show. But when blended with the matte wine lip stick it gives me the results I wanted. So color choice was totally my bad. But the formula feels amazing! It does have a slight fragrance but it isn't overwhelming.
I have the color Ecstatic, it is so nice and hydrating. I think it's a great dupe for the Clinique Black Honey. I will probably order more colors.
Perfect Summer to Fall Shade
I bought this in the shade Ecstatic. Super plummy and I think a dupe for Clinique's Black Honey. This is the best lip to wear to work. It's so light and weightless, but keeps your lips moisturized all day. No quite a gloss, not quite a lipstick. I think of it as a shiny stain and wears away beautifully. The only con is the taste which is awful. Straight up chemicals. Overall, I would recommend this and I'm definitely wearing this all Fall.
