Comparable to Dyson V series

Great vacuum! I’ve used a Dyson before and this is pretty much up there. Pros over Dyson V series: - economical without sacrificing quality - storage doesn’t require and outlet nearby. We were able to set up the mount on our kitchen closet door, which we could not have done with a Dyson. - Blade Max comes with a hardwood floor microfiber head. It is a MUST if you have hard surfaces. It does a much better job than the carpet head. With Dyson you only get the microfiber head if you get the most expensive model or if you dish out another $100. - can buy a second battery for $80 and always keep one battery charged while you use the other - carpet and microfiber heads have a little light that helps see dust. Newer Dyson V15 has this too. Cons over Dyson V series: - a bit heavier, but not by much - a bit noisier but not by much - you have to remove the canister to clean it, but not a big deal. Same as V6-V8. The newer V10, V11 and V15 Dysons can be emptied without removing the canister. Lots of reviewers complaining about battery power. If you have a 4.0 Ah battery and run the vacuum on Eco mode, the battery easily lasts 40 minutes. The suction on Eco mode still fantastic and picks up everything we need it to off of hardwoods. With Eco mode you get four settings, in order of suction power: normal+Eco, carpet+Eco, normal, and carpet. We just have one battery and put it in the charger when the battery gets to one bar. We’ve never been out of battery.

Better than the similar Dyson model

I have a Dyson of the same type and this lightweight vacuum cleaner is better conceived and easier to operate than my Dyson. It is also apparently more powerful. I recommend it as a credible alternative to more popular models.

Makes adulting fun

I have been looking for a vacuum for a while. I almost purchased another dyson but I wasn’t blown away by the first one so I decided to save some money. Thankfully I did because this vacuum is cute and does the job. I love to do house work now. CraY

Best Vacuum I’ve Owned

Other vacuums I’ve owned: Dyson Animal 2009 (still going) Hoover Lynx (broken, but good product) Dyson V7 Motorhead (broken) This honestly outperforms all of them in the suction category. This thing is beastly. It sucks up dust that our Dyson Animal leaves behind. The compact canister fills up so quickly because the suction is just that incredible for such a small size. The battery life is on the short side at full power. Maybe 15 minutes or so. Understandable because it uses so much juice to obtain a superior level of suction. There is a low power eco option for dust bunnies and loose pet hair. Haven’t tried to see how long it last while one eco. Its a little heavier than comparable brands, but this onepwr has wheels which help in pushing it around the house.

After looking at a bazillion vacuums, this is the one!!!

IM SO HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE!!!! Great suction, my floors have never been so dust free! The battery only lasts about 15 minutes or so, I’ll be purchasing an additional battery as I tend to do all my vacuuming at one time. I love the front light on it. I have mostly hardwood floors with a few large area rugs and it works great on both. I have been researching vacuums for almost 2 months and because of the millions of mixed reviews on every brand I just had no idea which one would be a good fit. I rolled the dice with this one as the price was lower than the dyson and shark models I was comparing. I also chose the Hoover because it had a removable battery with the option to get additional batteries. Most cordless vacuums I saw all seem to have a short run time.

better than the dyson

So I have the cordless dyson at home also and i can honestly say I was surprised that this one has better suction (like more powerful) than the dyson. I love it. It's super lightweight, easy to use, and i love the light on the front. I also like that you can choose the suction level to save battery.

Great suction!!!

Don't even hesitate to buy this vacuum. Wow...is all I can say.. I've had Dyson's forever...NOT anymore. Dyson doesn't even compare to this vacuum. Great attachments...easy to use...great cleaning power

Eh.

We’ve had a dyson v7 before so that was my immediate comparison - in terms of suction the Hoover was far better, especially on hardwood. My dyson was practically doing nothing on hardwood except for pushing dirt around. This works great. BUT maneuverability for this Hoover is seriously lacking. It’s not smooth, it feels awkward to turn, just not nice to work with. And it’s quite a bit heavier, my wrist was tired fairly soon in. However because it is working so much better than the dyson was, I’m still happy with this. Battery life is also good so far!

Not a plug-in replacement

This is half the price of some of the top-tier cordless vacs out there, (think Dyson, LG, Samsung). I'd say that its performance is 60-80% of these. The suction is C+/B-; more than enough for tile and hardwood, not great on carpet. The overall construction and ergonomics gets the same grade. The plastic doesn't feel high quality, the parts don't snap together as easily, it is heavier and just doesn't maneuver as easily. These quibbles are probably not noticeable unless you have it sitting next to something from one of the aforementioned brands. If your plan is to use this for spot cleanups or quick, hurricane cleanups in heavily trafficked areas before company arrives, it will probably fit your needs. If you are expecting a replacement for a corded vac, you will probably be disappointed.
