Awesome Backpack!

I have only been using this for a couple of weeks so I can't speak to the long-term durability yet, but this backpack is awesome! It is perfect for bringing my laptop and other necessities to work. I have received several compliments on the backpack because of how stylish it looks. Just like the Herschel pack... with more features. I have had a Herschel before. If you are thinking about buying their rucksack, my advice would be to buy this pack and save yourself $40-50. This has water bottle pockets and more compartments that Herschel. It is also incredibly comfortable and supportive, even when there is a lot of weight inside.

Awesome backpack!!

This backpack is well-constructed it’s good for school work travel you name it!! My 16 inch MacBook Pro fits the well padded laptop compartment perfectly!! I am impressed, I decided to buy this backpack over the Herschel because of the two exterior water bottle pockets and the extra pockets inside as well.

Quality dupe

I am a college senior that bought this bag a year ago and I love it! It holds my laptop and all of my books (and trust me, I had to lug around a lot of them last year), while also providing me with the security of it being mostly waterproof. My coffee exploded in one of the pockets one time and none of the liquid seeped through to the inside. The bag appears to be very well made, while also having the clean look of a Herschel. In fact, I haven't had any stitching come undone whatsoever on this bag. There is a good amount of cushion on the back and on the straps, and the bag expands very well. You know that phenomenon that happens when you buy a new car and suddenly everyone you drive past has the same car as you (but really, it's just you noticing it more because you own it)? That same thing apparently applies to backpacks. Walking around campus, I notice a good 20% of the students have a bag like this, so that's how you know it is a quality bag. All-in-all, I am very happy with this bag. I've already recommended my brother get one when he goes to college and I would recommend it to anyone else that asked.

A Good Alternative to Herschel, etc.

I ordered this on Black Friday, kind of on a whim, to replace an old Herschel Supply Co. backpack I've had for about 5 years. It is a similar style to some offered by Herschel and other "trendy" brands, and I think it looks great. The quality seems good, at least on par with my Herschel backpack (maybe even better--the Herschel one had a few loose strings almost immediately). I like the leather straps, and the backpack itself cinches closed with a drawstring before you fold over the top and attach the straps. The buckles are for show--they work, and you could theoretically buckle or unbuckle them, but they aren't really attached to anything. Instead, there are four hidden magnetic snaps (a set of two for each pocket) beneath the leather straps that secure them in place. These can be a little tricky to snap closed, as the magnets aren't super strong and it sometimes takes a bit of "searching" before they snap closed. The only thing I don't really care for is the lining of the backpack, which looks a bit like a candy cane in bright red-and-white. It doesn't really go with the black backpack, and it's visible even with the backpack closed unless you cinch the drawstring almost totally closed. That's because the lining folds over the top of the pocket and goes down about two inches onto the exterior. All-in-all, I think this is a good, budget-friendly alternative to other backpacks from brands you've probably heard more about. The quality and styling both seem spot-on.

Incredible quality!

Update:I have had the best experience with the customer service at Kaukko. After purchasing the red backpack I had second thoughts about the color and was able to exchange the red for the green. I absolutely absolutely love it. It is the best quality and cutest backpack I could ever have imagined. I'm so thankful that the customer service was as incredible as it was. I highly recommend this company and their products. I've been wanting a Herschel backpack for months but couldn't justify spending around 100 bucks for a backpack. So when I found this duplicate at a third of the cost I was trepidatious but had to give it a shot and I couldn't be happier. It's amazing quality. The straps aren't cheap feeling and the fabric is very nice. The backpack came in superb packaging aswell.

Can't ask for more

I bought this just a few days before heading out to a 3 week Europe trip. Let's be honest: this style is clearly a budget version of a Herschel. And not only does it perform just as well, it also has the side pockets. I can't justify high prices for things I know cost far less to produce. I'm VERY happy with the way this backpack held up through the trip. It looks great, fits lots of gear, and feel comfortable to wear. At first i was skeptical of the magnet clips, but I was surprised to find that they are very solid. My backpack also came with a little zipper purse which was convenient to hold cash and travel documents safely. The laptop sleeve is padded and felt safe, although I kept a tablet and magazines in it during my trip). I hope to eventually destroy this thing through the years with more travel. Overall a great purchase. Would highly recommend.

5'1 Ladies, buy it!

I absolutely love this backpack! I had a Herschel backpack for a couple of years but it was about time to buy a new backpack. BUT, I didn't feel like spending 100+ on one. I came across this backpack on Amazon and figured it was worth a shot for about half the price of a Herschel backpack. It is soooo cute. I read reviews saying that the larger size was too big for short ladies so, I was a little worried. I'm 5'1 and I have no issues with the size. When it's comfortably adjusted, it is right above my butt. The shoulder pads are really comfortable. The backpack is so stylish, I ordered the nylon black color. In addition, it's durable and so spacious! It's held up while I have to run across campus in the rain and kept everything inside dry. It's exactly what I wanted! So in other words... Buy it! :)

Worth every penny!

I've had this backpack for about two months so far and I love it! When I first started searching for bags I wanted a Herschel backpack until I looked at the price tag. This was at least $40-$60 cheaper, looks exactly the same to me, and is even more functional. I bought this with the intention of school use, but it would definitely work perfect for hiking or travel too. In the past I would always choose my bags based on style, but now I look more for comfort and want what's good for my back. It has a lot of padding on the back of the bag along with the straps, and in my opinion is still very stylish and trendy. It was taller than what I had expected, but I don't think it's too big or bulky. I can fit several binders or books with a laptop at the same time and still have plenty of space on top, even for my lunch bag. There are 3 pockets on the inside, a deep, larger one and two smaller pockets for a phone/wallet/etc. I use the outer side pockets for water bottles and my umbrella, there is even a strap you can tighten to ensure nothing will easily come out. I have a large 1-liter water bottle that I use frequently but won't fit, so if I could change one thing it would be to have the side pockets a little larger. However, my 750-mL CamelBak water bottle or any other typical water bottles will fit (picture is included for size reference). I especially like how secure everything is. To close the main compartment, there is both a drawstring and magnetic straps, and the small, outer... Read More

Quite possibly the best backpack I've ever owned

Quite possibly the best backpack I've ever owned. I've purchased more well-known backpack brands to include Herschel Supply Co. for twice or even three times the price point. These are definitely of a higher quality and the materials are very durable. I purchased the canvas green backpack and it looks better in person than in the photo. Considerations * There are no dividers on the inside. * The laptop pouch can only accommodate a smaller laptop. I personally fit my laptop into the main compartment and use the smaller pouch on the inside for my charging cables, pencil bag, and headphones. Highly recommend!

Different build than a Herschel, but worth it!

I purchased as a dupe for a Herschel. The backpack is built pretty much the same, EXCEPT, It has two pockets on the side which are perfect to hold Hydro’s. The only inconvenience to this bag is the laptop pocket. It doesn’t offer as much padding as the Herschel, and it also doesn’t cover the entire length of the laptop. But for the amount of money you’re saving, you really can’t complain. I’m taking this backpack on a trip as my personal item and am interested to see how much I can hold in there as it is very spacious. I love this back pack and will probably buy another in a different color.
