Taste awful but work as well as IBGARD

Ok these taste literally awful, BUT I have taken IBGARD and I had a flare up and couldn’t imagine paying the 30$ Each time I needed a pack for my flare up. So I tried these out because you get twice the amount for cheaper. They taste terrible and smell awful, but they work just as good as IBGARD and I’m very happy with them. They’re the same dosage as IBGARD just the pills are literally half the size. I definitely recommend!

Life Saving

I suffered moderate to severe intestinal pain on the left side below the ribs for decades. After numerous doctors and tests, one doctor finally suggested IBgard. IBgard worked fairly well but I experienced side effects of acid reflux and pepperment burps. Besides the cost was more than I could afford. After researching for a less expensive product I found Doctor MK's digestive support. This product is much more affordable and works much better. This is the first time in years that I have found something to relieve the pain besides volumes of antacids and eating constantly. Thank you Doctor MK's

it works

My husband takes this product either 30 minutes before a meal or 30 minutes after a meal. It does settle down his stomach. I switched from IBGard to Dr MKs initially because of the cost, but product to product Dr. MKs certainly works. Taking this has been because of his GI doctor's recommendation.

If you have insurance- you need this

I was originally using IBgard but I switched to these because they are more affordable. I would say these work better than the IBgard. So happy I found these. It has really improved my quality of life.

Excellent alternative to IBgard.

This is an excellent alternative to IBgard. I've used it for almost a month, and as far as I can tell, it works every bit as well and costs considerably less. The pills are egg-shaped gel-type with the peppermint oil inside, so they're relatively easy to swallow. Unlike IBGard, they don't have a strong peppermint odor. They smell a bit sweet. I DO have first-hand experience- their contents IS actually peppermint oil, and it's strong! (Don't ask) I haven't had any bad experiences with reflux with either these or IBGard. I take one about 30 minutes before my meals, though the instructions say you can also do 30 minutes AFTER.

Awesome Product for fighting Constant and Persistent Diarrhea

I cannot say enough good things about this product. I have suffered from gastro issues for almost 20 yrs, during any given week I would have diarrhea at least 3 times if not more and prescribed medications did nothing to relieve the problem. Someone told me about IBGard and while researching it on Amazon I found this with good reviews and a lower price, win-win. I have been using now for three weeks and have only had one instance of diarrhea while using which lasted only a day. I take just once a day during a meal, typically lunch. I found that taking it while eating helps with the peppermint flavor and burping that some people complained about. I think that eating some of a meal and then ingesting this and then covering with more food helps with that, in my non-medical opinion LOL. If you suffer from constant and persistent diarrhea then give this a try, I was not disappointed!!!

A good alternative

I have IBS and was taking IBGard. It got to be a little pricey so I was looking for an alternative. I found this and based on the reviews, I thought I'd give it a try. I am only taking one a day and it's enough for me. It says to take it on an empty stomach but if I do that, I can feel when the pill "bursts" in my tummy. Since this is peppermint, it's a strange sensation. Also, it will sometimes make me burp- definitely better than fish or garlic burps that those supplements can cause, but when I take it with food I don't experience that. It's definitely worth a try, for me it works just as well as IBGard.

Works great, compares to ibgard.

I bought ibgard first and it worked then I found these. They are even better and they’re cheaper! I’ve had IBS all my adult life (20 years) and I finally found some over the counter relief. I take with a prescription drug called Bentyl (my 3rd gastro dr prescribed me) and it works well. Also helps that I’m eating better. Also exercise and lots of water helps too ~ with me that is.

As good or better than IBgard

These are definitely comparable to IBgard in terms of effectiveness. They are better in many ways. They are smaller and easier to swallow, not to mention cheaper! The only thing you need to be aware of is that the peppermint oil is so concentrated and not in the micro capsules like IBgard. If you have a bowel movement too soon after taking your dose, it’s likely the oil will also come too and your exit point will feel like an icy inferno. Good luck!

Very happy with IBS Relief

Product took care of most symptoms of IB for a much lower cost and dosage than IBGARD. Additionally, doesn't burn throat when swallowing. Very happy, have been taking IBS Relief for 4 months. 😁

NOT like IBGard, not for children!

Our gastroenterologist recommended IBGard for my 4 year old. This, being way cheaper, yet still well rated, seemed like a good choice since they said to compare it to IBGard. However, IBGard is gel capsules filled with tiny little enteric coated balls. This is one small gel capsule filled with oil. The little enteric coated balls can be mixed in applesauce and eaten. This must be swallowed whole which does not work for all children. I can taste the peppermint already because I showed my child how to swallow a pill by taking one myself so I'm assuming it works. But my 4 year old accidentally bit the first pill so with some bribing and my 6 year old showing him he could do it, we finally got one down! Yay! But I'm not sure I'd try this with any child under the age of 4 because it was a bit difficult initially. I'm removing a star because they should NOT compare this to IBGard without also showing how the capsules are vastly different!

Pretty good.

It seems to work okay but keep burping up the peppermint oil during the day which I didn't have with the IBgard.

I'm going to keep taking it!

This is a good alternative to the IBGard - I never took that but it was also a lot more expensive than this product. I noticed a calming of the roiling sensations in my gut within a couple days of starting this. No heartburn or unwanted side effects at all and I've been taking it a couple weeks. Helped the diarrhea as well, hasn't stopped it but did notice an improvement. I'm going to keep taking it for sure.

So Glad I Tried This Product.

This product works just as well as IBGard for my digestive discomfort. I have not experienced the peppermint burps or stomach upset that others have experienced by taking one pill twice a day. However, one day I forgot a dose in the morning and decided to double up on my evening dose. BIG MISTAKE!!!! My digestive issues flared up and were actually worse! I guess there is a fine line between beneficial doses of peppermint oil and harmful doses. I definitely recommend only taking one pill at a time. Take it three times daily if you need to, but don't take two pills.

Packaging and size matter

Compared with IBgard, I find Dr MK's product for me is much better - the capsules are much smaller, less than half the size, so are easier to swallow. ... Secondly, the Dr MK's tablets come in a small recyclable bottle, unlike the messy metal/plastic packaging of each IBgard capsule that can't be processed by the solid waste utility in my city.
