Excellent sandals, superb value

I bought these sandals to replace my Teva Omniums, which started to fall apart. I have a pair of Keens too. These sandals compare favorably to both of them. They are both comfortable and seem sturdy. I wore them just a few times, so I really cannot tell how sturdy they are, but the construction looks solid. Size-wise, they come in whole sizes only. So, first I ordered 1/2 down (10). They proved to be a bit too tight and uncomfortable primarily in width. As they don't offer W-sizes I returned the 10 and got 11 - perfect fit. I wear 10.5 with rare exceptions.

Great value

Got these to replace a poster of Keens that came apart after a year. Didn't want to spend over $100 again, so gave these a try. So far they are just as good as the more expensive ones. Have work rafting, kayaking, hiking etc for this summer. They've held up great and I find them just as comfortable as the Keens.

great price & long-lasting comfort

This is my 2nd pair - first were bought ~4 years ago, and remain in wearable shape except the shock-cord laces gave out. Super comfy to wear for light hiking, beach walks, everyday get-arounds. The price for the quality can't be beat - think similar Keens that sell for $130+. The lacing is good as long as resistance remains, but they will give out long before the soles or uppers. Not serious enuf to take away a star. Regular laces do well as replacements.

As good as Keens, maybe even better for a third of the price

I just received these and have been pleasantly surprised. I went camping in the Colorado mountains for four days and I wore these camping, hiking, wading and even did some rock climbing. LOVE them! No break in, no blisters, dry quickly, overall great. Excellent sandal for the money, better than the $110 Keens. The ones I got have the removable heel strap, transforming them into mules for added functionality. Check the ad on Amazon because not all of them have the removable heel strap.

Good value - give it time to wear in

At first I found these uncomfortable and a poor knock off of KEEN style sandals, but after giving it some time they became much more comfy. True test will be how durable they are over time. My keens lasted me 3 years wearing nearly every day even in the winter sometimes. But comparing price, to keens, if they last me 1/3rd of the time it will be a good deal.

Good as I’ve ever seen in a keene competitor

Bought & wore them into the river the day they arrived! Perfect fit - but we’ll see how long they last. My last pair of Keenes lasted 4 summers and they cost $85. We’ll see

Good looking sport sandal with great support.

I never heard of Akita until now. I have ordered Keen and Merrell for this type of shoe before but they are $99 and up. This sandal was $36 and I would compare them to Keen. Only had them a week but I like them very much. We will see how long they last. Size 12 fit perfectly.

Great for the price!

Fit and comfort is great for sandals in this price range. These sandals feel every bit as comfy as my KEEN sandals do. I recently twisted my ankle (real bad) and these sandals are one of the only pairs of footwear I can tolerate right now. Glad I found them on Amazon. I'll be buying more of this brand in the future.

Nice sandal for the money

I've been a Keen fan so I can only compare this to a Keen sandal. This model runs about a 1/2 size smaller than my Keen sandals of similar style (My keen sandals seem to run large, I wear a 14 keen boot and a 13 keen sandal.). Thus it is slightly too narrow for my foot. I did not send them back because I figure I can ware them as long as the walk is under an hour. I also noticed the arch is slightly lower than the Keen. The quality seems to be similar to the Keen, maybe a little more light weight which may make a difference with time. Since I just got these, I can't say how long they will last. For the price though I think they are an excellent deal. I would probably buy another pair but I don't see that they make a size 14 which would probably fit correctly.

Love Atika

I like Atika sandals. This is the second pair I've purchased. The first, bought four years ago, remains in good shape despite frequent use half the year. I expect the new pair to last as well. I am size 10 1/2 sometimes 11. I bought Atika size 10 a perfect fit. (I have a pair of Keen Newports but prefer the Atikas because they are lighter. However, they aren't waterproof, as are the Keens. )
