This unit is light weight, easy to clean and performs very efficiently. I was pleasantly surprised at its performance given how many others were offered at higher costs. It locked right into place on my Kitchenaid, gave me a good even grind, and cleaned up with no effort with dish soap and water. Nice buy!

GRINDER LOVE!
I might be a wee bit biased, but my Kitchenaid Mixer is the best small appliance I've ever owned. Mine is about 15 years old, bought for a real deal on clearance. And I wasn't even aware there were different attachments for it until a couple of years ago. (I bought the slicer attachment) Just found out there was a grinder attachment the day I ordered this. I was looking into grinding my own meat rather than buying the store bought stuff which is way more expensive and who knows what they actually put in there? Grinding my own seemed like a healthier alternative. So I invested, and let me just tell you...this thing works like a charm! Even a dummy like me had it set up and grinding in minutes. The first thing I made with it to test it out was Roast Beef and Potato Hash. With my old hand grinder, this would have taken me about 20-30 minutes, not to mention another 15 minutes to clean. With this attachment, I was done in exactly 4 minutes, another 2 minutes to clean it. (Would have probably taken less time if I'd have read the directions to take it apart, first!) Just ground up some turkey for turkey burgers tomorrow, and hands down, this is the best investment I've made since buying the slicer attachment! LOVE MY KITCHENAID MIXER AND GRINDER ATTACHMENT SO MUCH!! I know it will pay for itself many times over...and it was already a good price to begin with! BUY IT, YOU'LL LIKE IT! :)

It's work, but worth it.
Living in Texas, with friends that have rural land and wild hog problems we end up being given a fair amount of wild boar meat. This IMHO isn't the best meat ever but it makes for a good base for various sausages. I use this to grind up the pork and mix in my spices, it also works great for stuffing sausage casings for sausages like bratwursts etc... So far everything has been good, I haven't put a lot through it, but it certainly allows me to use the Kitchenaid mixer for more than one function, making the space used far less. It's a LOT less work than a manual turn crank grinder, and a LOT less space than a dedicated electric grinder. Cleanup is easy, operation is easy, setup is reasonable...

I needed this 5 years ago!
As soon as I got it I used to to process boar meat I had frozen. It was really easy to assemble and also easy to clean. It fit my KitchenAid perfectly. It doesn’t feel cheap but it is coated. The handle to push the meat down is plastic but it is sturdy. I would recommend this to anyone who buys in bulk or hunts. I regret not buying this sooner!

Extremely Efficient and Cheaper Option!
This grinder does the job perfectly and costs way less than the KitchenAid attachment. I run expensive and cheap meat through this and it all grinds perfectly. Super easy to clean and assemble.

It’s not a genuine KitchenAid item and compromising genuine for this could be partly why I’m disappointed since I bought a KitchenAid, genuine, chopper for my mixer as well and the quality just seems much better with KitchenAid named products. I did however use this to make hot pepper butter and it has done a great job. Not sure how it works with meat since I have only used it to make hot pepper butter. It is relatively easy to clean and use it just Not seem to be as sturdy as I had hoped. I mean it’s definitely strong it just doesn’t seem as if when you’re pushing the items down in the chopper that it almost feels like it wants to come off where it is connected.
