Reviews for HIGH DEFINITION POWDER

People say Elf is really similar to Kvd Beauty.

Dupe for It cosmetics bye bye pores!!!

Best setting powder for face and under eyes. I compared it with it cosmetics and is the the same or even better because it gives you that smooth flawless smooth finish. I've tried Becca, flower beauty, Laura mercier, too faced face powder and this one is the best one and can't beat the price too. So happy with Elf. I have Combination skin and t zone is only and it sets my makeup so nice that it last all day. Highly recommend this powder with out the harsh chemicals once have.

Pleasantly Surprised

I hate splurging on Powder because I'm a makeup artist with Oily skin, so I use powder daily to set my liquid foundation, it's a must, I don't go without it. The technique I've found that works best for me is to use a damp beauty blender and heavily apply powder to my entire face, beginning with areas that crease to prevent creasing. Then I go back and swirl what ever's leftover in the lid onto my face and blend onto my neck. Then I take a clean brush and dust off any excess. I use A LOT of powder, but this is the only method that keeps me as oily free as possible. Because of this routine I go through powder like crazy and refuse to pay over $10 for it (unless it's Ben Nye Banana Powder!). I previously used elf's high definition powder in translucent, but as of lately while it's still been effective I've definitely noticed that it hasn't been as finely milled as previously and unfortunately the bottom of my last 4 containers have contained little balls of product, like powder solids. For whatever reason, I could never find elf's yellow powder in stores, so I never tried it. I gave up on elf, tried other brands, found a few that worked ok, but hated paying the more expensive price for a lesser product. One day at Ulta, low and behold they had the yellow elf powder. It's definitely brighter than Ben Nye's Banana Powder, and despite being just as finely milled, I feel like its a dryer powder, whereas ben nye was soft and luxurious. Nonetheless, it works incredibly well. It ... Read More

Great for my dark circles

The yellow powder really helps with my under eye dark circles! I apply the powder with my beauty blender so it leaves a natural look. I do have a medium skin tone so it doesn't look too yellow on my skin.

BAKE IT!

I use the white powder to bake under my eyes. I apply the powder with a beauty blender and after a couple of minutes, I brush it off. It always looks flawless and never creases. For the price, you can't ask for more!

airbrushed!

I bought this after hearing numerous great reviews from beauty gurus on YouTube and I'm so glad I did! I blends everything perfectly and leaves me with an airbrushed finish! I love the way it sits on my face and makes it soft and matte.

Came early

So I got my package with a total of 100 dollars it came 5 days early and everything was great but it doesn't come with the little pad thing. But works great just have a beauty blender or extra brush on hand to use!

Love it

Don't be scared of the white color, it won't look that way on the skin. I found it to be used better with a brush than a beauty blender.

love

I bought this because I didn't want to spend a lot of money on Laura Mercier powder anymore. This makes my makeup last so much longer than the Laura Mercier and looks more natural!! I love it. My only complaints are that there is very little product (.28oz?) and it's $6, so if you buy multiple to equal the common 1oz amount of other products, it would still end up being ~$20, which is not a drugstore price I'd prefer, but still better than $38 Laura Mercier. It's also extremely messy so I feel like I waste so much product. I apply with a beauty blender and it's still flying all around the room. If you only set specific parts of your face it will probably not be AS much of a hassle, but I always set my whole face so it gets very annoying. I think that has to do with how fine it is, which probably aids to the longevity and natural look, so I guess it's just a sacrifice that has to be made. I will still continue to use this!

Not bad for the price

I needed a translucent powder to set my undereye and chin highlighting concealer and color powders never worked, but any other translucent powder I tried seemed so drying and terrible. I picked this up on a whim and have repurchased a few times, and the formula seemed to have improved when they updated the packaging a few years ago. I have to make sure my concealer is well-blended before application, and I only apply a light amount with a beautyblender and make sure to brush off excess fairly quickly or else it can look a little crepey. It definitely helps to brighten and highlight a bit and feels very silky upon application. I wouldn't use this all over my face, however, as it seems it may flashback. Love the price. Not a fan of the container—I remove the grated insert as it's a pain to dispense into the lid each time, but I have to be extra careful not to spill!

I like this powder

First off, I didn't mean to by this powder and like it more than the one I meant to buy. There is a subtle sheen in it, but it is not overwhelming. I use a mini beauty blender to apply the powder under my eyes to set concealer and a fluffy brush elsewhere. Also the package is a great design the way it twists so it can't spill and you only get what you need.

I loved this product!

I used this with a beauty sponge and I think it really worked well to kept my under eye concealer from creasing! I haven't used it to "bake" anywhere else on the face, but excited to try it!

Definitely NOT your typical banana powder!

This is the brightest yellow powder I've ever seen. Almost neon. My skin has a yellow undertone, so it works for me, and doesn't make my under eye area look chalky, as some other yellow powders have. It's nice and silky, lightweight and very finely milled. I set my concealer and bake with it. It definitely brightens my under eye area visibly, but not obnoxiously. The brightness lasts all day. This powder doesn't settle in creases, which is nice. I prefer to use a puff of dry Beauty Blender to apply, because this powder will clump and cake in contact with water, in my experience. I was almost afraid to try this powder because it's such a vivid yellow, but I'm glad I did. The sifter in the jar is nice, too. It has a type of "dial" on top, so that you can control how much powder comes out, and you can close it completely, too. Why all loose powders don't have controllable sifters, I'll never know. I guess it would make too much sense, lol. I love this product in loose powder form, but I wish it were also available in presses compact form for doing makeup on the go (if I'm running late, sometimes I have to do my makeup after I get to work).I'm not sure how this powder would look on neutral or cool skin tones, but I like it for my warm, medium brown skin tone. You get a lot of product for the price, too. I took one star off because I wish it were a slightly deeper yellow tone, but I would repurchase.

Love this product!

I've used this for baking under my eyes, my nose, cheeks, and forehead. Using the baking technique (applied with beauty blender, bake and then brush of excess) it makes my skin look poreless! I work 12 hour shifts and my makeup really holds up well. I didn't give it 5 stars because I think the packaging could be better.

Sheer

I bought this a while back about maybe a month ago. I can use this easily. I don't use the poof it comes with but I use a fluffy brunch or a beauty blender. It actually balls up a bit or doesn't look right if I use the elf primer underneath but if I use a different primer then it works great! I use it over my foundation and it looks amazing!!

Transulent Not For Dark Complected...

I received the translucent shade with my beauty bundle and was really excited to try it. Unfortunately it made my face look like I was practicing for my "undead" look for Halloween. I think the shimmer or corrective yellow might give my face the look I want. For now, I'll just keep adding it to my lotion. I have gotten more compliments and questions than I can count commenting on my "glowing" skin. ;)
