Reviews for Volume Booster Lash Primer
People say Essence is really similar to Lancome.
its really good and affordable
really good. much better than loreal and better than lancome imo. chanel is prob the best primer mascara. but this def a best for your money's worth
Comparable to Lancome!!!!
Formerly addicted to Lancome, THIS is my new fave --- but at a fraction of the price. And it's so inexpensive that I don't even feel I've been "cheated" by throwing it away to start every few months as Lancome suggests. REALLY like this product --- very high end performance/quality at a surprisingly low price.
I previously have tried expensive lash primers, my favorite being Lancome's Cils Booster XL, which is quite pricy. Primers nourish and protect the lashes, plump them up so you require less coats of mascara and do make a difference in the appearance and health of my lashes. This brand was recommended and for the price it was worth a shot. I would argue this product is just as effective as the other primers I have used. My lashes are longer, appear fuller and do not seem to be breaking or falling out at the level they do without lash primers. It's my new go to. It's always a pleasant surprise when you find an effective, inexpensive product to replace a high priced one!
IVE TRIED ALL OF THEM
I've even tried the TT famous Lancome Lash Booster (that didn't work), and FINALLY, tried this one -IT DOES WHAT IT SAYS IT WILL!! I just got mine, but will buy another to keep on hand. I have hard to curl lashes, their straight. When i use this undery mascara they stay curled and have a lot of volume.
I was running out of my Lancome eyelash primer that I got as part of a give away, but seriously, I will never bother getting more expensive brands of eyelash primer. I was impressed with how many positive reviews this primer had and with the price I decided to give it a whirl. Seriously. I'm not buying any other primer again. I have high end and low end mascara and of course, the high end mascara always smudges. The only mascara that I DON'T need primer for is, ironically, this Essence brand mascara. Using this primer doesn't dry out my eyes and my mascara stays put all day. I'm so happy I got this primer!
Great primer that does the job. One thing to keep in mind...
I've used a handful of mascara primers and this one is perfectly fine. It works! If you apply this white primer to lashes, wait about 1½ minutes, apply your first quick coat of a lengthening and/or volumizing mascara, you'll be well on your way to looking like you have falsies on. Don't forget to curl lashes first though. Pump and curl lashes a full 15 seconds with an eyelash curler! Back to the primer---after you've got the first coat of mascara on to cover the primer, you'll want to wait another 1½ to 2 minutes and apply a second coat of a *different* mascara... It's not so important that it's the best of the best, but why not get a good one that differs slightly from your first mascara. Grab one that's meant to hold a curl in your lashes or add intense color and volume/etc? There's no hard rules with this. Using two different products has become a life theme for me... It truly does seem to intensify the effectiveness of most products! I took away one star for this primer because of the way the primer applies to the lashes.... I had to learn how to get it to actually go on my lashes. It wasn't coming off much at all until I realized I needed to use the tip of the brush, kind of glob it on and then use the wand to distribute the primer evenly over my lashes. I totally recommend a lash primer to make your life easier in the long run (assuming you want mega lashes.) It's kind of effortless if you follow what I've written here. FYI: I love just about any Lancome or Estee Laud... Read More
Not as good and the lancome
I was hoping that it was as good as the Cils Lancôme product.
Effective and budget conscious
I've tried the similar Lancome product, which I love, but I decided to try this to save some money. Wow. It's (almost) as good. I get a nice lengthening effect and I haven't had any clumping a full month into using it. I've seen some reviews bothered by the color. Isn't the white color typical for a lengthening primers? That's the color of the Lancome product everyone seems to love.
I've tried several eyelash primers, including L'Oreal and Lancome ... and they can't touch Essence's Volume Booster Lash Primer. It makes my puny, ageing lashes look long and thick. And at the price it's unbelievable. I can't wait to use up the L'Oreal I have now and get this primer again. I let it dry a bit before I put the mascara on top. Simply brilliant.
I will continue to buy this!
I was addicted to cils booster from Lancome for 4+ years. I will be buying this instead because I get the same effects and zero cons for a fraction of the cost. I didn't even notice a fragrance.
first time purchasing this
I have been using this for about 1 week. It gives my lashes good coverage and a good base coat of primer to top off with my mascara. I have tried 2 different kinds of mascara and they both work with this, so I think any mascara would. It does not cause flaking or irritate my eyes. makes my lashes appear thicker when I use it. I have been a Lancome user before this, but this was cheaper so I thought I'd give it a try. honestly works just as good I think.
This volume booster works great. Use to buy Lancome however I tried this one and it's just as good and 1/3 of the price!
Always makes my mascara look better
This eyelash primer always makes my lashes look so much longer and fuller once I apply mascara. It is similar, if not better, to the lancome eyelash primer.
used to use Lancome. Even Loreal. This product is sooooo good. love it!
Will buy again
I was looking for a new lash primer after a couple years of using Lancome Cils Booster- I chose to try this one out bc of the good reviews and cheap price. It performs just the same as the Lancome one for over half the price. I will definitely buy again!
I love this! So glad I decided to give it a try. I was using the lancome primer previously but it doesn't do what this wonderful cheap product does. My only complaint is the amount of product that doesn't spread evenly on the wand. You have to wipe against the side of the bottle to get rid of some of the product so it doesn't goop. For five dollars you should give it a try!
i have tried many different primers before settling on my favorite from Lancome. This one works just as good and is less then a quarter of the price! It adds volume, legnth, and curl, I have already stocked up!!
use a light hand
It is definitely goopier than lancome, but it's also way way less. I've only ever used it with essence mascara and I've never had any issues covering my lashes completely as others have said. I do my right eye then left then apply mascara on right then left so it's not completely dry, just tacky. I swear it curls my lashes! The combination of this with essence lash princess is out of this world! It doesn't get all over my lid like many mascaras do. Not five stars because sometimes it does come out with too much product and I don't notice until it's gooping my eyelashes together. But a simple run with an eyelash separator usually does the trick!
