Reviews for Maybelline New York Eyestudio ColorTattoo Metal 24HR Cream Gel Eyeshadow, Barely Branded, 0.14 Ounce (1 Count)
People say Maybelline New York is really similar to Mac.
Much better than expected
I have a lot of problems with eye makeup getting into my eyes and making my contacts hurt or cause blurry vision. These shadows are great especially when I am getting ready in a hurry because they apply so easily (you can use a brush but I prefer to use my ring finger to put it all over the lid and then clean up/blend before it sets with a brush. Once they set they're not moving and running into my eyes. They constitute a base for any other shadow you may want to add. I haven't really worn a very involved eye look with this but so far I've had no problems with running into my eyes or fading when I used one of these as the allover lid color. You can also leave it as is without any other shadow or liner and just put mascara. This color especially makes you look more awake and brightens up your face. Actually I was not sure this color would work on me. The pink is not as bright as the stock image here. It's a bit lighter. I wouldn't have bought it but I saw swatches online that led me to give it a chance. I am fair (about an NW15 in Mac) with dark hair and dark green eyes and sometimes pinks look weird on me. This shade is pink but not overly so and I can wear it without looking frosty and weird on my cool tone skin. It's a shade that I can see working with warm toned skin as well though. It's almost a neutral pink - not too pink, not too coral. Overall I recommend the color tattoos and this shade was way better than I expected.
Love the color tattoos! Bad to the Bronze is neutral enough to work on cool toned skin

I don't look good in browns and bronzes but I saw swatches online that led me to give it a chance. I am fair (about an NW15 in Mac) with dark hair and dark green eyes and warm colors like bronze wash me out. This shade is somehow a cooler shade of a warm color and just neutral enough that I can manage it. It even makes my eye color look more bright. It's a shade that should easily work for more warm toned people. Overall I recommend the color tattoos and this shade can be an excellent staple for people with a range of coloring.
Love, love, love!
I had bought MAC Naked Lunch and somehow lost it. I didn't want to buy another one at the price they sell for, so I searched for a dupe online and was led to the Barely Branded shade of this product. All I can say is wow!! I do not remember being this impressed with its MAC counterpart. The color payoff is amazing. It is super easy to apply -- I just use my finger. And talk about LONG LASTING! HOLY WOW!! It was really hard for me to believe that this wouldn't smear or crease but it doesn't at all! I wear contacts and rub my eyes throughout the day yet this product doesn't budge at all!! I read a review that said they swatched the product on the back of their hand and then washed with soap and water and it still didn't come off completely. I tested this myself and it is true! I use this product every single day and will definitely re purchase. So impressed for the price!!
Best Drugstore Creme Eye Shadows
These crème eye shadows can be easily compared to MAC paint pots. They have great pigmentation, they are easily blendable, and are also beautiful as an eye shadow primer. The price is also very good for this high quality product, usually averaging around $6. I find that this product does not crease on me whatsoever and is great to wear in any weather and for all occasions. This product is not drying at all. It also sets at a reasonable rate, just enough time for blending. This product is good for a daily, casual makeup look as well as a smoky, sultry look. The pigmentation can be built up without looking cakey on the eyelids so one could aim for a sheer to a very opaque eye makeup look. This product is very versatile in every sense. Application is very easy and it is a simple product to work with. Overall, amazing results with this product.
Great eyeshadow base!
I bought this hoping for a dupe of MAC's paint pot in soft ochre because I was unwilling to shell out that much money for something I didn't know I'd like or use that much. Amazon's picture makes it look like a pretty dark brown, but I read in online reviews that it's actually not that dark. It's true! I have warm-toned light-ish skin (NC25) and though this is a bit darker than my eyelid's natural color, I actually like the subtle eyeshadow effect it gives me. It applies smoothly and easily, and does a great job of staying on and making my eyeshadow last longer. A lot of the time I just wear it alone. It's quickly become a must-have for me!
Best eyeshadow ever!
Okay, so I was in two minds about buying this one, because I wasn't sure of the color, and if it would look right on me (I have medium dark skin tone, somewhat olive and tan). When I used it the first time, I was so excited, it's the perfect pink! It looks great when you gotta use dark lipstick, especially red (I pair this with my MAC Ruby Woo and it looks gorgeous) and even if you just wear this with an eyeliner, and nude lipstick, it''ll be great. I generally use it all over my lid. This stays on forever and comes off just as easily. In short, it's perfect. Don't waste your money on high-end products when this serves your purpose just the same, or better.
Perfect for summer
Love these color tattoos by maybelline. They last all day. Very shimmery but looks natural since it's creamy gel. Different colors have different levels of creaminess and sheerness. I like to use tattoo metal "Barely Branded" all over the lid up to brow. Then apply "Bold Gold"on the lid and lower lash line. "Bold Gold" reminds me of MAC rice paper. Then on half lid and in the crease I use "Bad to the Bronze". This shadow pairs well with Missha BB cream as a foundation. Together it gives a natural health glow look. I also like the maybelline Dreamy bouncy blush. I use "coffe cake" under cheek bone for contouring and "Rose Petal" on cheek bones for color.
As good as products that are twice the price...
I love this eyeshadow! I have several colors of it, it is very comparable to similar products that cost twice as much. I am kind of a make up snob and do not usually use the cheaper brands, but I am very glad I gave this product a try. It goes on very smoothly, is very blendable and stays on until you take it off. I think it does need a primer to go on evenly and to maintain a freshly applied appearance throughout the day, but so do the more expensive brands (Bobbie Brown, MAC and smashbox) products.
This Purple is Gorgeous!!!
This eyeshadow is soo pretty. This is not to be confused with Mac paint pots. Macs paint pots are thicker and you apply with your fingers these are not as thick and you need to apply eye primer and use brushes to apply. That is the only difference that there is. I tried using my fingers to apply, but it seems you have to apply more with the fingers than if you use brushes. That is it, for the cost and the vibrant color, it is soo worth it. Love It=) PS. I am so glad UPS got my package right this time=)
Good neutral eye base for people of color
This is cool but it is NOT a dupe for groundwork like the comments state. It's darker and more neutral toned than groundwork by MAC. It's a great base for a smokey eye though if you have lighter skin. Dries quickly so you gotta blend fast.
