almost as good as PUR

They were less pricey than PUR and work reasonably well. My water is pretty good anyway so I went with these. If my water was bad I would probably spend the money to get real PUR filters.

Good replacement for the PUR filters.

Replacement for PUR water filters

Great price, same quality as name brand

I read reviews on how well the filters work with PUR system, and found this to be true. The price is great for 6 filters, which was about the same as what I've paid for 3 PUR filters in the store. They fit well, the water tastes great, and the stream of water is a lot faster. I will purchase these again.

They work great for us...

These filters work great for our needs. We have moderately levels of iron in our well water, i.e., one can taste it a bit straight from the tap but it does not quickly stain sinks, toilet or bath tub (does it a bit over time but very controllable with periodic light scrubbing). We have problems using the PUR filters themselves in the PUR faucet attachment as the do not flow well, especially on the low end of the well pressure tank cycle (around 35 lbs according to the pressure gauge). It can take several minutes to fill a quart jar for example. These Aquacrest filters do appear to run "too fast" in that the pressure coming out them is great...so wondering if it is really filtering. However, straight tap water has that slight but distinct taste of iron, running through the Aquacrest filter takes it away - water has no iron taste. 'Nuff said...since all we need is to remove the iron taste as the water has no other contaminants (we've had it tested several times). Oh...and they may not last quite as long as a genuine PUR filter, but it is real close...a couple months versus maybe a week or two more with the PUR canisters. But the speed of flow, lesser cost and decent lifespan is perfect for us. Recommended...if your problem is like ours...mild iron taste.

Perfect

Fits my PUR and also cheaper than the name brand replacement.

Inexpensive alternative

Every bit as good as the overpriced PUR filters for a fraction of the price. Just be sure to let them run for a minute or two before you drink the water.

Works great, but am somewhat puzzled

I have a special needs child so I really depend on having a good filter, without breaking the bank (same goes for filters). We usually get Pur filters only, but decided to give these a try because we get more filters at a more affordable price. I don't taste the difference but am somewhat skeptical if it's even filtering properly. The flow is strong; it flows almost like there isn't a filter (flow is fast but it almost just as fast or even faster then my sink without the filter on). Also when I first installed it and turned it on, some blackish blue stuff came out and I said what is this?!?? I read the manual that came with the filters and it explained that this is normal (its due to the carbon block that gets knocks around during transport but that it goes away after first use). Then yesterday I noticed white specs in my sink and I did not know what they were. I saw it again this morning, and sure enough after doing some detective work, turns out it's coming from filter cuz it has a Coconut carbon block. So now I'm wondering if this is even safe (because this is not mentioned in manual). All in all it seems great, but am just making a mental note over all these things.

seems to work as well as OEM

better price than actual PUR product - taste and flow rate seem to be the same

Won’t repurchase

Looks like Pur filter but it’s not. I’ve tried 2 of the 6 and both have a massive overspray leaving a mess of my sink area. I know it’s just water and it’s 100x more forceful than the Pur filter making it quicker to fill cups, jugs, coffe pots, etc. but it makes me wonder if it’s actually filtering. Otherwise I don’t notice a chance in the flavor of my water so I will presume it’s filtering as it claims.

GOOD PRODUCT

STANDARD USE AS AN ON FAUCET WATER FILTER - SEEMS TO BE A GOOD SUBSTITUE FOR THE PUR WATER FILTERS.
