Great customer service

I have been using ZModo for 2 years. It broke twice so far and warranty changed it. But zmodo was very slow to connec and was failing notifications. Zone features was not working well. Finally I decided to go with Eufy. I am glad I made the decision to swift. Ohh boy this is fast. And much more accurate both with motion and notifications and overall connection. I am so happy. It also comes with chime. My only suggestion is to enable Chime to ring more than once in the app so people can customize it. It rings once and it may not be enough for large houses. But it is loud enough to hear from another room. Update: After few days of use I am lowering my rating to 3 because it misses my amazon deliveries. I set it to all variations they have under starting and it is either many unnecessary notifications such as tree branches moving with wind or not catching human movement. If I set to human only it misses humans. If I set to more sensitive settings then I get a lot of notifications. I hope they can improve their software better. Update: Customer service is amazing. They’ve immediately reached me out and provided some advance settings that I could try. It works much better now.

Better - Product, Price, Value and Function

So wish we had discovered Eufy before installing another device by Ring (floodlight cam) Incredibly easy and fast to install (EVERYTHING you could need is in the box) Application easy to install, setup and use NO SUBSCRIPTION NEEDED FOR FULL FUNCTION (So fast on the notifications!!) Great picture day and night Was super easy to send family members their invite so they can use the app and they were able to setup the app in no time. I'm sold! Sorry Ring, you're overpriced and problematic - even just a few feet from the router - I'm switching to Eufy Better product, Better price, Better Value (Eufy, don't get stupid now and get expensive... Instead, remember that economies of scale work in reverse in regards to profits!! ((Sell more at smaller margin, still make enormous profits)). )

Beats ring hands down

I had ring installed previously... it only worked half the time on the app, and needed a subscription for playback. Not with eufy. Works great , and I like how it takes a still picture as well....I just got the plug in chime and not the one needs to be connected to the router.... because then you are limited where you can put the base , instead just plug in the chime anywhere....

Really great thumbnail image

This is a great doorbell! The best thing is the thumbnail feature. It zooms in on the face of the person. The zone setting is a real plus. The person detection also seems to work really well, I rarely get false positives. My previous doorbell was RING. With RING, the RING app always had a problem connecting to the doorbell. I wasn't reliable. Eufy is WAY better! One downside is that RING was okay with my 13VA transformer. The Eufy needed more power. I had to hunt down and change the doorbell transformer in my home to 30VA. It was not difficult for me to do, as I'm relatively handy. Just a bit of a hassle. One con for Eufy is that I wish it would be able to ring my original (REAL) doorbell.

Easy to install and set up with no issues

I was a little concerned since my existing doorbell is wired to a sidewall at a 90 degree angle from my front door. But this is the lowest price this doorbell as been and I saw that it came with a 15 degree mounting plate. I also saw some adaptor plates online for this doorbell so if it wasn't wide enough I had the option of buying an adaptor to "increase" the mounting angle. As you can see, turns out I didn't need it. With the 15 degree mounting plate both my front door and the walkway leading up to my doorstep are in frame. The front of my house also faces west and I was installing and setting it up in the evening and everything beyond my doorstep was washed out by sunlight, but enabling the HDR mode and bam...everything is visible now. Installation was fairly simple...it took me longer to figure out which breaker in my fuse box supplied power to my doorbell. Then it took me a while to get the cover off the doorbell chime because the previous owner had painted over and around it so I had to use a utility knife to cut around the edges. I would rate my handiness as average or maybe a tad above average but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I got everything set up without running into a single issue in about 30-45 minutes...and again most of that was spent flipping breakers in my fuse box and walking back around and ringing my doorbell...climbing up a ladder to get to the doorbell chime. Setting up and using the app was pretty simple too, didn't run into any iss... Read More

Finally found a reliable doorbell camera

Tip : after installing camera you point a QR code in front of it to register device. The instructions don’t make it clear you have to ring the doorbell and hold the QR code in front of the camera at the same time. After that registering was easy. A lot easier than registering the @mcrest doorbell that died after 2 years and was unreliable. The biggest thing I love about this camera is the display is set up for 4 x 3 not widescreen 16 x 9. This has a much better field of view for us to see visitors at our door. The fisheye lens shows more but can be disabled in settings for a more straight on view. This doorbell has 4 gig of internal storage included. No need to buy a micro SD card. The video and pics are 1080p and good quality. You can adjust how sensitive the motion detection is and even move lines around to create a custom zone. Only movement inside the zone you create will set off an alert. I had to bypass my mechanical doorbell and have all power from the doorbell transformer go directly to the camera. I plugged in the included auxillary doorbell close to our front door. The app lets you change the ring chime and even the volume. If you want a security doorbell camera but hate paying monthly fees this is the one for you. There is an option to pay for cloud video storage but it’s not required at all. So far this is the best no monthly fee doorbell I’ve ever owned. Highly recommend.

Cheaper and better than Ring.

This is my second Eufy video doorbell. I bought my first one a year or so ago for my front door. Liked it enough to buy another one now for the back door. They work well, without me having to replace batteries (these units are powered by existing doorbell wires) and there’s no monthly fee (like with Ring units) for internet storage. That’s done locally and works well. Since there’s no cloud storage, I don’t have to worry about hackers. After using my first one for a year, I can say this is a solid product. When somebody comes on my porch, I get a photo of their face on my Apple Watch, no matter where in the world I happen to be. The software selects the face part of the picture to send to my watch or phone for the notification. That’s cool and unexpected.

Perfect video doorbell system

This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. When we bought our new home, I wanted to replace the existing doorbell with a security video doorbell and there's a number of them to choose from. Initially, I went with a Ring but its profile was wider than what I wanted for the doorframe and, besides, it used a rechargeable battery (i.e., it didn't use the existing doorbell's power). In contrast, the Eufy system easily utilizes the home wiring (you just have to add an extra wire to bypass your existing chime which just takes a minute) and the Eufy chime is a plug-in that you can place anywhere in your house- it kind of looks like one of those plug-in air fresheners. Furthermore, the Eufy system records video whenever triggered by activity which you can download: you don't have to pay a monthly subscription to have the data stored on the cloud. This is a big plus for me as it's "one and done"- you pay for the system just once. You receive notifications of any activity via an app on your phone which you can view. Any footage you want to save can be downloaded and the rest gets cleared at the end of each day. Video footage is clear and crisp including at night. You can use the built-in speaker system to talk to anyone who is at your door. And the product itself is pretty slick looking. Disadvantages? It uses infrared at night so it switches to black and white mode when its dark so if you want color video at night, this might not be for you. Also, if you want to be able to rec... Read More

Product Quality, Customer Service and Warranty

I bought this Eufy 1080p with HDR video doorbell last year in October. I was pleased with the features and the video quality of the product comparing the price and the value it brings. The best part is to not be in a monthly service agreement of any kind. Overall I loved this product. Everything was working great and then a couple of months ago the doorbell stopped working, appeared that the area where you press for the doorbell for the ring has something stuck on it or something. I tried to fix, reset it a couple of times without any luck. I was kind of frustrated that in only 5 months this product stopped working. I was not sure if there will be any kind of support after 5 months and I may have to buy a doorbell of another brand. Before making any decision I thought, Let me check with Eufy support and see if there is anything they can do in this matter. Now I regret that why I did not call them earlier. The experience with the product service and support has been by far my best experience. They helped me diagnose the issue and when realized that it will need to be replaced they simply sent the replacement doorbell. I will see how the product is working in the coming year and probably do another review after a year. One thing is sure.. I can blindly buy products from Anker, I know if there is any issue at all, I am in good hands. Thank you Anker Support and customer service.

Awe Video Doorbell

The system captures the entire encounter from the moment the individual is detected by the camera, in this case the FEDEX guy. Also, that the facial recognition gives you a snapshot of person is a huge plus and audio is amazing too. Alerts are amazing fast and setting are foolproof. I can qualify this because I've had Ring and Simplisafe and they both SUCK! If you've had or have either Ring or Simplisafe and are not happy with them or are looking for your first video doorbell that won't cost you a dime to use, get a EUFY

Great Video Doorbell!

I bought a Ring Pro about 5 years ago and it never really worked right--I couldn't get my chime to work even after installing the transformer upgrade. When the Ring detected motion, the camera & audio system were way too slow to connect. So, if we were away from home, the person at the door would be gone by the time we could see who it was or speak with them through the system. Also, the pay wall for the video storage was expensive and annoying to access--it wouldn't let me access the video unless I was on our home wifi for some reason. The Eufy fixes all of that. The chime that comes with the system works well-chimes immediately when rung. The video quality is great with the distortion correction feature. The system connects instantly, so when we are away from home the person at the door would never know. The audio is clear and times well with the video on the app. The video storage is perfect for our needs and it's extremely easy to manage--delete, save and share videos. The build quality of the unit is impressive and the lighting features on the unit are great. It was very easy to install the unit and the app and get it up and running. I'm reasonably handy, but no more than any average homeowner in the USA--I had the unit installed and running within 45 min after opening the box. The video instructions and written instructions are clear and easy to follow. I would definitely recommend the Eufy over a ring video doorbell system.

Good so far

I've had the Energizer doorbell for the last 3 1/2 years until it started glitching too bad. Shopped around in stores and online all the while debating if I really wanted to finally break down and get a ring doorbell with added fees. So glad I didn't break down and go that route. I found this doorbell and so far I am pleased with my purchase. I only have 2 complaints: first is that there isn't enough space behind the doorbell (flat back) and it was difficult in getting my existing doorbell wires to lay a certain way in order to get the doorbell installed. A piece of one of the wires broke and I had to strip it which made it harder to connect due to being short wires already and no space. Second is that it doesn't show my visitors head to toe view and cannot see my packages that have been delivered. I guess that is ok because if anyone comes up they are detected and are on video. I can deal with that. Other than that small aspect, I am fully happy with my new purchase. *Something need to add to original review: I thought I was getting doorbell where I could view playback and use sd card but no. I do not like that. I figured out I would still have to pay monthly fee, (only $2.99 for one device) but oddly enough this product says it’s not eligible for that.

Beats the Ring doorbell hands down, better video, faster response, & stores videos

Replaced a Ring doorbell & this is so much better. Wiring is more solid. No spring loaded contacts. Just wire nuts & spade terminals. Better quality video, recognizes humans, sort of. sometimes goes off on shadows, but it's mostly correct. I get a photo of the human on my phone and apple watch when it goes off. Super product. Stores videos, which Ring does not unless you pay them. Highly recommend.

Didn't Last Long for the Price

Pros: When it worked, it did have a good wide angle of my driveway. I was able to zoom in and out on the live feed. It was easy enough to mount and wire my existing doorbell wires to it. The sound was clear on it and the night vision worked really well. Cons: Since this was the wired version, it was real finicky with my doorbell transformer. I went through three transformers before it worked properly despite what the instructions recommended. I should have tried the rechargeable option, but I didn't because of various reasons; one being it eventually died and I didn't want to invest the kind of money into another one from this brand. If you live in a windy area, even the lowest motion setting will get tripped by dust and bugs. Typically when someone would ring my doorbell and I was not at home, the notification lag didn't give me adequate time to grab my phone, bring up the app, and respond to the visitor; so not too impressed.

Updating my previous review from "definitely not what we hoped for" to "working much better"

(Leaving my previous review below but only for reference.) After seeing my review below, the customer service team at Eufy reached out to me to make suggestions for improving my experience. It involved several emails back and forth with me submitting screen shots etc., and them replying with suggestions. This makes me feel much better about Eufy just knowing that a responsive team felt their product was not the issue, and was willing to work with me to get it working much much more reliably. It's not a 5 star experience yet, but it's up to 4, and I'd be happy now to recommend this product. ********** (previous review) I kept waiting to write this review, hoping I'd be able to give it a better rating, but unfortunately I'm pretty disappointed. At first I just thought it was a steep learning curve for me, but I now think the learning curve is needed by the doorbell and not me. Although I've adjusted the sensitivity and the activity zone multiple times, we regularly get notifications (often many per day) showing the front tire of my husband's car in the driveway, which Eufy identifies as a human. Yet the newspaper carrier can drive up the driveway and launch the newspaper to our front door and we've yet to see the doorbell take note of that event. If someone actually comes to the door and rings the doorbell, everything works pretty well - the doorbell rings, my phone buzzes and I can see who is there. But it seems that unless someone is actually standing within a couple of feet... Read More

Fine as Doorbell with Image, Fair as a Motion Detector

I purchased this because I was interested in being able too see anyone ringing my doorbell. The unit works well in this role, and even allows one to speak remotely with whomever is there. It automatically records a video of the event and stores this internally. The recording can be deleted at will, saved on the device, or downloaded. I did not realize until the device was delivered that it also can act as a motion detector that would record a video of persons who approach my door even if they do not ring the bell. This function did not work to my satisfaction. The device failed to detect motion unless that motion occurred within a few feet of my door. I contacted Eufy support by email. I must say they were very quick to respond and I have had close to a dozen communications with them. They seem genuinely interested in solving this problem. The most important thing they told me is that if one goes to Doorbell Settings, Motion Detection, then taps five times on the words "Motion Detection" at the top of the screen, you can adjust the sensitivity of various settings (the lower the number, the more sensitive is the device to the relevant parameter). However, none of the changes they suggested were entirely successful. Eufy then sent me an additional wedge that they thought would help. It made things worse. In the end I removed all wedges and and have come to a compromise of settings. If I set motion detection to record All Motion with the maximum sensitivity, I get a good result ... Read More

Shows a large area

Camera very sensitive to motion, good quality of picture. The only problem I have, went you walk by the doorbell camera, my front door bell rings. We have been trying to troubleshoot it but haven't been able to correct it.
