Reviews for BABY SKIN® INSTANT PORE ERASER®
People say Maybelline New York is really similar to Smashbox.

Dang!
I have tried quite a few primers. Mostly the drugstore type but a few more high-end including Smashbox. And I have tried that certain drugstore putty pore reducer that everybody was raving about. I greatly disliked that one by the way. But this stuff is great! Definitely diminishes pores. Makes a smooth pretty canvas for the make-ups, and makes my make-up last 4-EVA! And I try to take very good care of my skin, but I definitely have what would be unfortunately referred to as “mature skin “. I also have very sensitive skin and I’m prone to breakouts or those little bumps. This gave me no problems. Although I absolutely advise washing it off when your day is done. I can only imagine it clogs those pores to hide them 😮. Absolutely my new go to!

Amazing!
I’ve used all the popular brands - Mac, smashbox, benefit, Bobbi brown, too faced - you name it. I haven’t been satisfied with any of those so I’ve been jumping around. Bought this because it was cheap and had good reviews. I AM SO GLAD I DID! This stuff is seriously amazing… I’ll never use anything else! If you’re hesitant to buy this JUST DO IT! You won’t regret it

Excellent substitute for Smashbox primer. Love it!!!
After getting a sample of Smashbox primer, I completely fell in love with this kind of product. It temporarily "spackles" my pores and creates a smooth, silky surface so it's easy to apply a matte foundation--the foundation goes on smoothly and spreads evenly. I wasn't looking to add another step to my morning routine, but the primer really made a difference. Unfortunately, I don't have the money to spend on Smashbox, so I went looking for a similar product in a drugstore brand. A lot of drugstore primers are thick, lotion-like and pearly white. These are great when I don't want to put on foundation but I do want my skintone evened out, but for me, they work best by themselves and they're too dry to easily spread a foundation over. This Maybelline product, however, is exactly what I want at an excellent price. Just a little bit primes my whole face for easy foundation application--I've used it every day for a few months and the tube isn't empty. I wouldn't use this INSTEAD of foundation (I'd use the thicker Revlon or L'oreal primers instead) but it makes it so easy to apply foundation that I can't imagine going without it anymore. I feel silly gushing about a product, but there you have it. This stuff is great.

Like Smashbox but at a fraction of the price!
I’ve been using this primer for a long time now and don’t plan on stopping! Provides a silky smooth base for make up. Feels just like Smashbox’s expensive primer but at a fraction of the price.

Love
I've tried a lot of primers. Smashbox's photo finish primer, Bare Minerals, NYX, elf, Laura Geller's spackle treatment primer, Benefit's Porefecting primer, and more. These primers range from $6-$30. For the price, this primer is BY FAR the best, hands down. If I don't take into consideration price, I would say this is neck and neck with Benefit's "porefecting" primer (~$30). The highlights of this product to me are 1. The price. Can't get cheaper than that. 2. With this on my skin, my foundation goes on like BUTTER. It's seriously so smooth but somehow still very light (unlike smashbox's photofinish primer). 3. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I feel like this has made my skin better. Like I'm breaking out less. Maybe it protects my skin from makeup clogging my pores. 4. I have an oily t-zone and this 100% takes care of that all day long. I go to work at 9 and come home at 5 or 6 (and live where it is humid) and my makeup still looks smooth and flawless.

Amazing primer, not a lot of product (which is expected)
I'm a huge fan of the Smashbox Photo Finish primer so if you are too, this is great! Your makeup will apply flawlessly even if you apply with your fingers (which I never did prior to using these types of primers.) I wish there was more product included, but I feel like using the primer for 1.5 months doing your face makeup 4-5 a week at its low price point is definitely worth it. If you like the putty primer from ELF, this Baby Skin is a million times better.

Works just as well as Smashbox!
This is a clear, balm style of primer, similar to Smashbox best-selling foundation primer. A little goes a long way, and it provides a nice base for making pores and lines even and ready for foundation application. Has no color, so does not provide any coverage or evening to skin tone - mostly just fine adjustment to skin texture and nice base for longer lasting foundation.

Great for everyday wear...
A convenient alternative to a trip to the drug store or Sephora, I was really pleased by this product and its price! I normally use the Smashbox Photofinish Primer, and I love it, but who wants to pay $30+ for primer for every-day use?! This goes on smoothly, creates a nice finish for makeup application, and causes your make-up to wear longer and look nicer. I didn't have any problems with clogged pores or oily skin. I notice it doesn't work as well as the Smashbox (obviously, you get what you pay for), so I wouldn't use this for special events, but it's great for everyday wear! It's smaller than I expected but lasts a while and it's pretty cheap in comparison to other similar products. Overall I think I still prefer Smashbox, and maybe even the Monistat anti-chafing gel (pretty amazing), but this is easier to find, more portable, and a better price than those alternatives. I'd purchase again!

nice product
I have used and like Smashbox primer, however it's much too pricey. I tried Elf and it coagulated on my face. This produce is similar to Smashbox. It smooths on and my foundation smooths on. A tiny bit does the trick and it's inexpensive.

Great pore blurring primer with a great price
This is a decent pore filler, especially when you factor in the price. I had originally started out with pore fillers because of my giant pores on the cheek/nose area. The first one I purchased was Benefit's the POREfessional face primer - but I was very disappointed because it left me greasy and my nose LOOKED like it had a pore filler in them. My poor nose was dotted with little white dots. However, I came across this in a Walgreens and purchased it because of the low price; I figured I could throw it away if I didn't like it and I would only be out a few bucks. But when I tried it, I fell in love. It was cheap and it seemed to work. PROS: + Very light + Provides a very even surface to apply makeup onto + Blurs pores a little (note that it doesn't look like your pores have gone away) + Doesn't get very greasy CONS: + While it doesn't get very greasy, it doesn't really last for a full day + Feels a little unnatural sometimes While I really do like this product, I've moved onto different pore minimizing primers. I currently use Smashbox's pore minimizing primer for my nose area and Tony Moly's egg pore primer for the rest of my face. It was a great product at the right price though.

its decent for drug store cosmetics, but nothing compares to Smashbox Photo Finish
For those who wrote reviews complaining this product made their skin oily, I suspect they have never used a silicone primer before. Silicone feels slick and a little bit of product goes a LONG way; so it is possible to over-apply it. Even a drop the size of a pea is TOO much to use. So just be mindful of how much you use and it does make your foundation lay better and does make pores appear a little lesser in size. For being a drug store cosmetic product, it's decent. It's a one time purchase for me. I already own Smashbox Photo Finish but wondered if there was a less expensive alternative with the same results. Nope. Smashbox really is the cream of the crop. This Mabelline product doesn't compare to the Smashbox brand, but Smashbox is also not available from a drug store. Big difference is quality. Smashbox is pricier but absolutely worth it. As I mentioned early, just a smidge goes a loooong way and the product will last forever, so I recommend investing in Smashbox photo finish - the high end version of this Mabelline product.

I love this
it reminds of of the Smashbox photo finish primer. I focus it in the tea zone & use in combination with Smashbox photo finish primer water & sometimes a squirt of Mac Fix+

Made my skin very smooth! Best primer I have ever used. Better than smashbox and NYX.

I brought this product because my daughter said it was very close to the smashbox primer yet very inexpensive. I have no regrets will definitely buy again.

Love Love Love
This is a fantastic dupe for the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. I wear makeup 5 days out of the week so I use this stuff pretty frequently but it last a long time, probably around 2 months. A little bit goes a long way and it does a great job at reducing the look of pores and any textural problems you may have in your skin. It does not make your skin overly matte which I like a lot.

Compares to smashbox
It blurs pores, doesn't fill them like POREfessional, but I don't have large pores anyways. For 30 dollars less than smashbox, I find it very comparable.

LOVE THIS PRIMER!
this product is OMG! i have been looking for a good non-runny primer without having to spend so much. this is definitely it! it glides onto my skin and lasts all day- i tested it with my 15 hour foundation and the primer stayed on just as long as my foundation! makes pores smaller and controls oil. i think it might be the dupe to smashbox's primer-both feel and stay on my skin the same way. i have oily skin but i do get acne, and this primer does not bother either. it also has no fragrance which is great. all in all, will re buy! must try!

This is the 3rd time I have purchased this product!
I really enjoy this product, I feel like it's comparable to the Smashbox primer. It's easy to apply, a little bit goes a long way. I have very large pores, and this has helped the appearance of my skin look so much smoother and clearer. I also have sensitive skin, and it has never irritated my skin or caused breakouts. I definitely would recommend this product! Also, when you think you're about to run out, think again. It just keeps going and going!

Great primer. Highly recommend
I saw a review on drug store dupes for high end cosmetics. This was listed as a dupe for Smashbox's photo finish clear primer! The first tube worked beautifully. So I bought 2 more while using the last bits of my first Baby Skin primer. I highly recommend this primer!

Favorite Primer
I've tried Smashbox and tbh, it doesn't have anything on this one. I love this Primer!

Smashbox Photo Primer Dupe
I was using the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer (it's pretty pricey) and then my sister gave me this because she never used it. This is a such an amazing primer and a dupe for the Smashbox primer I mentioned. And it's inexpensive. It's amazing.

I love this , it's perfect for dry skin. If you have oily skin it's not for you . Works better then Smashbox primers just me . A little goes a long way and so much product .

I replaced this product from my Smashbox primer to try a cheaper route and it worked out wonderfully.

Loving It!
I've been using Tarte's Primer BB Cream combo for a while but recently switched to their full coverage foundation. I wasn't liking it without a primer underneath it though so I decided to give this a try since everyone on Pinterest was raving about it a couple years back. I have to say I wasn't disappointed. I've used it everyday for the past week under my foundation and my face has been looking flawless. I've used Smashbox's photo finish primer and this has a very similar feel when applied but for a much cheaper price. The difference in quality between the two is so minuscule in my opinion that it isn't worth the massive difference in price. This is definitely a new beauty staple for me.

YES! ITS THE BEST, ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE!
I picked this up only because I been wanting to try a product like this & thought it would be a great idea to go for an inexpensive brand first before I buy smashbox or something...anyways, BEST CHOICE EVER..after 1 week of using this product I AM IN LOVE! It really is true detention of BABY SKIN! & for me it made my makeup less oily then the samples from smashbox, although I do think it is also a great product.

Staple product!
Love this primer! I have tried the smash box and benefit primers and would say this product matches up very evenly for me. I even played around and applied Baby smooth to half my face, and smashbox to the other half for a few days, no difference at all for me. Same pore minimizing effect and both lasted the same. I will just stick with this guy now! Such a deal and lasts forever

High quality primer at Drug Store price!
I like this primer a lot. I heard it was a solid drug store dupe for higher end primers (smashbox, Este Lauder) and it's super accurate. I like the La Base primer from Este Lauder, but sure as heck didn't want to pay for a full size. This is a great find!

Great dupe!
This primer is comparable to Urban Decay or Smashbox primers, works every bit as well and much more cost effective! I wear it every day.

Very Similar to Smashbox Primer.
I bought this because I didn't want to spend the money on the Smashbox pre minimizing primer. I'm glad I did! The consistancy is very thick so I used a little bit at a time to cover each section of my face. It feels so soft, almost like velvet. My foundation blended very well with it. My pores were visibaly smaller and overall skin texture looked so smooth! Great product if you're on a budget and needing something effective.

Fabulous primer
I use this everyday under my makeup and I think it helps my makeup stay put (I apply it mainly in the t-zone) and helps keep shine at bay. I have heard it is comparable to Smashbox primers (I have never tried them though so can't confirm). I love this one - will definitely repurchase! It does not break out my skin, either.

Love it!
I wear this everyday under my makeup. It is a cheap alternative to Smashbox's Photofinish Primer. I love both, but when I run out of Smashbox, I use this. It is just as good!

AMAZING!
I love this product. It is my holy grail drugstore primer. It has a silky smooth texture. Non greasy. Very comparable to the Smashbox primer. Extends the wear of all of my foundations. Definitely recommend. Will always repurchase.
