People say The Ordinary is really similar to Sunday Riley.

Better than expected! I'd been waiting for this to be available and got so lucky in November when was back in stock. I purchased three bottles hoping I'd fall in love with it as much as my other TO products. Well, let me tell you...…. I'd been using Sunday Riley Luna for a year and was pretty happy with it. UNTIL I tried Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane . It was impossible not to note the differences. First - WHY SR uses artificial dye is ???? I also noted how quickly the Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane absorbs, unlike other Retinol products I've used (a LOT!). I kid you not, within two weeks I noticed that the fine lines around my eyes (yes, I do use it around my eye area.... shhhh! Don't tell DECIEM!). These lines had clearly softened and weren't quite the same length horizontally. The pores on my 52 yr old nose appeared less deep. I also use this around my upper lip and those lines as well weren't as pronounced. So, here sits my $$$ Luna oil being passed over for a product not even 1/4 of the price. I'm so happy that after 9 months of waiting I finally got my hands (well, face) on my beloved Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane ! No going back, just looking ahead to my best skin - thanx to TO!

Absolutely love this in combination with HA moisturiser every night, reduced fine lines, reduced pore size and has evened out my complexion by reducing pigmentation. Switched to the ordinary combination about 4 months ago and does the same if not better than Sunday Riley Luna serum/oil. Also saving loads of money and very grateful for the ordinary's honest, high quality and inexpensive products. Feel valued and respected as a customer and will keep coming back for more. Please restock this as soon as possible. Can't have enough. Thanks The Ordinary!

I was using Sunday Riley Luna oil combined with Sunday Riley Good Genes, which I loved. I went to visit my daughter and because of lockdown and not able to travel back home I have been staying with her. As I didn't have my Sunday Riley Products with me my daughter gave me The Ordinarys Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squaline to try. In my experience of using both Sunday Riley and The Ordinary products, and my honest opinion is that I cannot tell the difference. I wanted to see or feel some difference as Sunday Riley products are so much more expensive. I will use up my Sunday Riley products but once there gone I will replace them with the Granactive Reinoid 5% in Squaline.

This saved my skin

I have been using this product along with The Ordinary's Niacinamide and Proactiv's Step 3 Benzol Peroxide treatment since last December and it has dramatically changed my skin. I have had cystic, hormonal acne since I was a teenager and it had dropped to my jawline and neck in my older age. I was given some samples of some other products at Ulta that began my quest for better skin. I discovered Sunday Riley but can not afford those products so I searched the net and found the Ordinary. As a teenager and young adult, I spent a lot of money on the dermatologist and prescription drugs one of which was the first retinoid product which was harsh and burned my skin. I had been hesitant to try today's retinoid products because of my past experiences. IF you have acne-prone skin retinoid/retinal products WILL cause you to break out for 1-3 months because it is causing your skin cells to turn over and doing so brings what's deep in your skin to the surface. My skin went bananas for roughly 2 months but I kept a very regular schedule of use. My skin was soft and brighter even while breaking out and then suddenly the intense breakout ended. My skin cleaning routine lasts about 30-45 minutes to complete at night. I have since discovered the Korean skincare routine of washing twice, toner, active ingredient products and then moisturizers and sunscreen. 5% granactive retinoid goes on oily it takes a while to dry but for me, it is worth it. I still breakout but the acne comes and go... Read More

Switched from IL and won't go back. Nearly 46

My daughter got me in to the more .... " natural, less c**p anti wrinkle face stuff " she calls it. If it doesn't smell, it's good, read the ingredients mum Anyway, she bought my first IL and it was, okay, didn't see much difference after 2 months. But I started to do my own research .. nearly 46, fine lines under the eyes, dry skin naturally, frown lines a little, lines around the mouth, that sort of thing, but I tried the IL and it really dried my nose and forehead. I came across the 5% ordinary, after reading about soooo many products on a Sunday evening. I purchased this and collected 2 days later. First thoughts were, I really like the dropper, less is more and no wastage ( when I squeeze a tube or bottle, too much Comes out ) and I didn't even need to squeeze the dropper due to a little on the outside of the dropper. Anyway, I found the consistency to be slightly oily, light, fragrance free, very easy to apply. Placing on my skin was very easy, a little goes a long way. I've learnt to tap it in to my skin rather than rub, a little trick. I wake up with non dry skin, no peeling and I pop a little simple light moisturiser on and I'm good for the day. I've only been using 2 weeks, but I think I've found my calling card for my face. I've put moisturiser on my skin for 30 years, anything will do. But you get to an age where you need a little help. Conclusion - perfect for mature skin, skin over 30, excellent for dry skin, skin feels moisturised, no redness... Read More
