Reviews for Eyeshadow Primer

People say Milani is really similar to Urban Decay.

Recommend over Urban Decay Primer Potion

I bought this as a cheaper alternative to the Urban Decay primer potion and I love this product. Keeps my eyeshadow on all day and doesn't crease at all. I will buy again and again

Dupe for Urban Decay

Over the last few months I've been trying to find more affordable alternatives to the boujee makeup I buy and this has been one of my best finds so far! I've used Urban Decay's eyeshadow primer for a couple years now and have enjoyed it, but after using this Milani for a few weeks now I LOVE IT. It's MUCH EASIER to apply, dries faster, and allows the eyeshadow to go on smoother. Not to mention is nearly 1/3 of the price! 10/10 recommend!

Can't live without it.

I've tried elf, urban decay, and ABH eyeshadow primers, and I'd choose this one over those. It has a thicker but blendable consistency, and keeps my eyeshadow from creasing ALL DAY (I have oily lids). A little bit goes a long way! However, if you are looking for some coverage/color correcting for the lids, this will not be for you.

Best on an oily lid

I tried I urban decay eye primer but it expired fast. This milani primer doesn't expired. I have for 3 years and it still work.

Definitely repurchase/mature eye lids

I was using Urban Decay primer prior but with mature hooded lids, it would help with the hooded part but dry out the rest of my lid. This primer is perfection. My eyeshadow doesn't crease all day, I can use it all over the lid without it drying my lids out and actually makes my eyeshadow look even better. I will definitely be repurchasing.

Dupe for Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion

My eyelids will DESTROY liner and shadow. Huge creases, melting, all of it. I'd previously been very happy using Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer, my go to for years, but I forgot it one day while on the way to an event, picked this up, and was immensely impressed. It's essentially the same product (very slightly thinner consistency than UD) but at less than half the cost. Could not be happier!

Love This

A little goes a long way. I bought this because I'm sick of the application process of the wand on the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer. This has the same staying power, is cheaper, and is 1000x easier to apply. Will buy again when I'm out of this one.

Withstood Sweating and Skateboarding

No complaints about this primer honestly, so I only have good things to list out. While I can't vouch for people with oily eyelids, I can vouch for people who sweat a lot. When I first got it, I tested its wearability with my eyeshadow and eyeliner then went out to skate. An hour of intense skating around the park while wearing a mask under 90F degree weather later, I was happy to find that my eyeshadow and liner were as I left them when I left the house. This eyeshadow primer has the same amount of product as the cult-favorite Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer and performs just as well, so a recommendable dupe! For people who want a clear primer rather than one with coverage, this is amazing. A small amount goes a long way, and eyeshadows blend so nice and smooth with it. Not to mention that the eyeshadow goes on pigmented too.

Great primer, UD dupe

I will continue to repurchase this. It is a cheap dupe for the Urban Decay primer potion. When I use this primer for eyeshadows I get lots of compliments, when I use just concealer as primer I don't get many compliments so that was a selling point for me. Will be repurchasing if I ever run out!

Better than any prestige brand primer

I have hooded eyes, which means that eyeshadow almost always creases on me. I've spent the past year trying different high-end primers (Nars, ABH, Too Faced, Urban Decay) and all of them have creased on me or been inconsistent. So far this Milani primer has been everything that I was missing. Shadows stay pigmented and, most importantly, DON'T CREASE BY THE END OF THE DAY. Suffice to say, sometimes dugstore brands are better.

Best drug store eye primer

I'm getting into the beauty world slowly now that I have free time on my hand and just bought my first large eye shadow pallet and I knew I needed a good primer, but didn't have the money to spend on something high end. I read this was a great dupe for urban decay and read a lot of reviews before getting it and maaaaan am I so happy I bought this. I may never go high end. The color pigmentation is beautiful and and really pops, every single shade. IT DOES NOT FADE! I'm serious. One night I got too lazy (drunk) to take off my eye makeup and slept with it on, woke up in the morning and it still look AMAZING, did not look like it faded/come off at all. Almost exactly how it looked when I first applied it 12+ hours. My only con is that it is a little tough to blend shadow out sometime, but maybe that's eye primer in general? I technically never own eye primer before and used to use concealer instead before and it blended out a little easier. But it just shows that it really does stick and last a long time so it worth the extra effort. I'll probably never buy any other drug store primer if this exists. Maybe I'll get high end one day, but I'm really really happy with this and the price makes it even better. GET IT, especially if your new to the makeup world like me.

My new fave

I used to love the urban decay primer, but I needed to find a primer that was a little more wallet friendly. I saw this on sale and noticed it had pretty good reviews and thought I'd give it a chance. This is my new fave primer. I have super oily lids and this works SO MUCH BETTER than the urban decay primer. And the price tag helps too. I'll definitely be repurchasing this again.

Smooth & lasting application

I've tried Ulta's matte eyeshadow primer, the NYX primer, as well as the urban decay primer. Although those are bad choices, the nude matte primer from both ulta and urban decay were almost too dry, leaving a dry look on my lids. The NYX was translucent (clear) but dried to a sticky consistency. The MILANI is the ultimate and best primer I have used thus far. Does not try sticky, but smooth and is clear. Lasts too! Please try it!

My Go-To Primer!

My favorite eye primer! I've tried Urban Decay and other brands and I keep coming back to this one! My eyeshadows stay on my oily lids more than 12 hours!

Solid Eyeshadow Primer

I have been using Urban Decay primer, but wanted to try something a bit more affordable so thought I would give this a whirl. It works great, even with my oily eyelids. Wear time has been between 8-13 hours with no issues.

Impressive Primer for a Low Price

I saw all the great reviews for this and had to try it. I have very oily skin, and there's no point to me attempting to wear eye shadow without a primer. It just ends up creased and looking terrible. I have been using Urban Decay's primer, but when they changed the formula a few years ago, I don't think it's worth what it costs. I have tried other primers but haven't found a good one...until now. I really like the Milani primer. I use just a little bit, pat it into my eyelid and crease, then brush a little powder over my lids when I powder my face. Then I apply my eye shadow, and this primer does a very good job of keeping the shadow looking smooth. It might crease a little bit by the end of the day, but I chalk that up to my super-oily skin, and anyway, it's barely noticeable. I will be buying this one from now on instead of Urban Decay.

LOVE THIS STUFF!!!

I have tried so many other eye shadow primers, and they just don't seem to work, even the Shadow Insurance by Too Faced and the Primer Potion from Urban Decay that everyone else seems to stand by. I'd apply my eye shadow and a couple of hours later, I could see creasing and by the end of the day, it was as if I hadn't used any primer! Maybe it's my lids, I dunno. Anyway, I tried this one because I saw a good review on YouTube and am very happy with it. It doesn't take long to dry, and it holds my shadow in place all day. AND it's cheap! I'm very happy with this one.

Love this!

This is really the best drug store eyelid primer that you can get. it really lasts all day and night no matter how active you are. i havent found a primer as good as this. i would def compare it to the urban decay one too.

What a nice surprise...

I've been a fan of the Urban Decay eye primers and more recently Mary Kay's eye primer. Both of those brands are pricey but both are also great products. I ordered this with no expectations--knowing that I could take it back if I hated it. Well, I did NOT hate it--I LOVE it! It goes on smoothly and while it comes out a beige color (nude, I think they call it), it disperses and I don't notice any color on my lid. I like the smooth feel and the easy way it goes on. Also, a little goes a long way. My eye shadow lasts all day until I take it off. And, it's about a third of the price of the other pricier brands. Don't hesitate to try this!!!!!!

Will definitely buy again

I have oily skin and my eyeshadow always creased and broke up on me without primer... For years I swore by Urban Decay primers... Then I tried this... I was pleasantly surprised to find that it works just as well at a fraction of the cost!

Just as good as high end primers

I've been using the urban decay primer potion for the last 3 years and decided to try this instead and I can't tell a difference. I have oily lids and this makes my eyeshadow last all day. My only complaint is that it's a squeeze tube without a brush. Otherwise I love it, I'm not going back!

Great product

Very pleased with this. I love the Urban Decay eye primer but so costly unless you catch a sale. I find this just as good. Eye makeup goes on smoothly and looks fresh all day.

Works nice

This worked just as nice as my urban decay eyeshadow primer but was much easier to apply with it's convenient tube
